BRIEF HISTORY
Ample Securities (Private) Limited (ASL) is a Corporate Member of Karachi Stock Exchange. The company was established
in June 2002 with a capital base of Rs. 49 million. Mr. Hamid Abdul Shakoor is the Director of the company. He acquired
individual membership of Karachi Stock Exchange in 1999 and commenced business in same year. Mr. Shakoor has converted
his successful business into this corporate entity called ASL.
ASL is presently undertaking equity sales and trading functions. The company aims to establish equity research departments
in near term in order to provide customers with a comprehensive and tailor-made package to help them in making better
financial planning.
ASL has implemented one of the modern accounting systems and has synchronized it successfully with the automated trading
and settlement system of the Karachi Stock Exchange. This will provide customers with quick confirmation of their orders
and access to various kinds of information and database.
Various professionals have been recruited to help customers in their decision making process and to successfully manage
the intricacies involved in the automated systems. ASL presently has 18 employees and more professionals are being recruited
to manage the growing customer base and volumes, which has now surpassed Rs. 2.5 billion per month.
MISSION STATEMENT
The company aims to become a leading financial services firm serving both individual and institutional clients. With
a view to support GOP’s initiative to liberalize financial markets and develop innovative products, ASL aims to
play a catalytic role in this endeavor by encouraging domestic and international investor’s participation, and
developing financial advisory services for them.
Ample Securities Limited is presently in the beginning stage of development. By combining the experience of sponsor directors
and professionalism of management staff, ASL aims to find innovative ways to overcome various financial, technical and
other constraints to the effective development of capital in the Stock Market.
THE MANAGEMENT
Sponsor of the company are well reputed and regarded amongst the financial community. They are in the equities brokerage
since the last 10-20 years, and have successfully thwarted some of the worst crisis of the last decade. A brief synopsis
of sponsors is as follows:
Hamid Abdul Shakoor
Mr. Abdul Hamid Abdul Shakoor is the Chief Executive of the company. He has vast experience of financial
markets in Pakistan, and valuable knowledge in risk management and brokerage house operations. He is in brokerage business
since 1980. Before the incorporation of Ample Securities, he was managing the brokerage house as an individual member
of the Karachi Stock Exchange.
Hussain K. Habib
Mr. Hussain K. Habib is Nominee Director in the company. He is looking after sales and settlement of
company. He started his carrier from institutional sales way back in 1989, and has been successfully managing retail
& institutional clients since the last one and half decade. He has also remained on board of Arif Habib Securities
Private Limited and Sindh Alkalis Limited. Mr. Hussain has attended various courses on financial markets and skill development
by national and multilateral agencies.
Muhammad Usman Abu Talib
Mr. Muhammad Usman Abu Talib is a Director in the company. A commerce graduate from Karachi University,
he brings with him over a decade of retail and institutional brokerage experience.
Muhammad Ali
Mr. Muhammad Ali is a Director in the company. He specially looks after the retail clients of ASL.
He has been equity brokerage business since the last decade and has worked for various brokerage houses in past.
